The Vision Behind the Build

It all began with a bold idea: merge the soul of a classic rifle with the demands of today’s most aggressive precision shooting formats. At SHOT Show 2020, the original WOOX Furiosa turned heads with its revolutionary blend of metal and wood. It was beautiful, no doubt—but now, the Furiosa Ultra  takes it even further. Designed for PRS shooters and long-range enthusiasts, it transforms the original into a competition-ready chassis without sacrificing heritage.

This isn't just about looks. The Furiosa Ultra  is the evolution of an already excellent platform, engineered for recoil control, adjustability, and precision fitment. If the original Furiosa was the beauty queen of chassis design, the Ultra is its elite-athlete twin.

Key Components and Technical Details

Every detail on the Furiosa Ultra was chosen to elevate performance. Starting from the front, the forend has been extended by over 3.5 inches compared to the original, now providing 16 inches of usable space. This extension houses a full-length 10-inch Arca rail underneath, allowing seamless bipod and tripod transitions.

It accommodates barrels up to 1.20" in diameter and integrates M-LOK slots at 3, 6, and 9 o’clock positions. Beneath the barrel lies the WOOX Suspense™ Weight System, which accepts six 2.5 lb weights. This feature lets shooters dial in their rifle’s balance based on discipline and preference—a game-changer in PRS.

The chassis supports Remington 700 and most of its clones. Upcoming inlets are likely to include Tikka T3x and Savage 110 platforms.

Range Experience and Performance

The Furiosa Ultra  is built for serious performance. Its aluminum backbone eliminates flex, creating a rigid foundation for consistent shot placement. The suspense weight system allowed for perfect balance during positional stages, and the walnut grip offered a warm, non-slip surface under pressure.

One clever design decision was the magazine latch. Positioned for easy index-finger access, it drops mags smoothly without fail. However, depending on your action, you might need to file the magazine catch slightly—a minor tweak for an otherwise seamless system.

The vertical grip geometry has been improved over the original Furiosa, offering even better trigger control. Combined with the bag rider and full-length Arca rail, this chassis provides every tool a PRS shooter could need.

While it lacks a built-in barricade stop, the magwell lip and magazine body often serve that function well enough in real-world use. Still, this may be a detail worth addressing for future iterations.

WOOX Superleggera Review: Lightweight Walnut Rifle Stock

The WOOX Furiosa Ultra is not just an upgrade. It’s a purpose-built evolution. For the PRS shooter who wants functionality, modularity, and undeniable style, it’s a top-tier option. It feels as good as it looks—and it looks like a rifle from a bespoke armorer’s workshop.

Yes, it commands a premium price. But in return, you get Italian craftsmanship, PRS-tier functionality, and heirloom-worthy aesthetics. For many shooters, that’s a combination worth investing in.
