Why upgrade your American stock?
There comes a time in almost every rifle shooter’s life when they just aren’t satisfied with their OEM rifle stock. It might be too heavy. It might be too flimsy. It might swell and contract with changes in temperature and humidity. It might even be ugly. Whatever the reason, most of us look for a stock that better suits our needs and desires. Here’s what you should be looking for when you decide to buy your aftermarket rifle stock.

The standard Ruger American rifle comes with a basic Synthetic black stock, which also has a rubber buttpad for recoil absorption. It has a 22-inch barrel and is available in various calibers.
The Ranch Model made a few cool improvements to the standard model. It came with a threaded barrel and an optional muzzle break. It also featured a Picatinny rail for easy mounting of scopes and optics. The Ranch Model was also shorter in overall length, with a short 16-inch steel barrel. It comes with a simple synthetic stock, which is available in both Black and Flat Dark Earth.
The Predator is perhaps the most popular rifle of the Ruger American series. It offers the excellent performance of all Ruger American rifles and comes with a heavier tapered and threaded cold hammer-forged barrel. It features a Picatinny rail and a Standard Moss Green Synthetic Stock with a rubber buttpad
Next up, we have the Hunter model. This rifle is specifically designed for hunting, and hence features a heavier barrel, and comes chambered in 6.5mm Creedmoor and .308 Win. This rifle has been designed with a Magpul Hunter short-action Synthetic stock, which has an elevated cheek rest, and modern profile. Moreover, this rifle is designed to work with PMAG 5 7.62 AC mags.
The Ruger American Compact model is very similar to the standard, however, as the name suggests, it is more compact and features a shorter 18-inch barrel and a shorter length of pull. The compact features a simple Synthetic black stock and has a rubber buttpad as well.
The Ruger American Compact series is basically the exact same specs as the Standard models minus a few inches. The Compact fits a standard black synthetic composition stock with a rubber buttpad installed
Ruger also introduces the Standard Ruger American rifle with an exclusive GoWIld ® Camo finish on the stock. This rifle is excellent for hunting and allows you to blend into woodland surroundings. The Stock is made from Synthetic Polymer and features a rubber buttpad as well.
