WEATHERBY VANGUARD'S HISTORY IN A NUTSHELL
Weatherby is an American firearms manufacturer who started their business back in 1945. In the late 60s, they worked with Howa to build an affordable rifle with premium features that every average hunter could use.
This is how the Vanguard was developed, and it was introduced into the market in 1970. Based on the Howa 1500 bolt action, the Vanguard was initially offered in standard hunting calibers and was an excellent alternative to the common Remington 700 and Winchester Model 70 rifles.
Now, they also offer some models chambered in their proprietary Weatherby magnum calibers.
