Building the Ultimate Ruger 10/22: A Custom Woox Team Masterpiece
The idea of building my own Ruger 10/22 rifle was something that had always excited me. With a passion for precision and performance, I embarked on a journey to create the ultimate rifle. Instead of starting with a stock Ruger 10/22 and upgrading it over time, I decided to dive right into building the perfect custom rifle from scratch.
Research and Preparation
My journey began with extensive research. I purchased a book on building the ultimate rifle, which provided invaluable insights into the various components and their functionalities. This knowledge laid the foundation for my custom build, helping me make informed decisions about each part I selected.
The Core of the Build
The heart of any rifle lies in its core components. For my build, I chose the following:
- Brownells BRN-22R Stripped Railed Receiver: This high-quality receiver provided a solid foundation for my custom build.
- Brownells 10/22 Bolt Assembly: Paired with the receiver, this bolt assembly ensured smooth operation and reliability.
- Brownells Takedown Screw: This essential component secured the receiver and bolt assembly together seamlessly.
Enhancing Performance and Accuracy
To ensure my rifle was not only accurate but also performed at its best, I selected premium parts that would enhance its functionality:
- Athlon Optics Neos 4-12x40 Scope: This scope offered crystal-clear optics and precise adjustments, ensuring my shots were always on target.
- Vortex Pro Riflescope Rings: These rings provided a secure and stable mounting solution for the scope.
- KIDD .22LR Heavy Match Black Barrel: Renowned for its exceptional accuracy, this barrel was a crucial addition to my build.
- KIDD Single Stage Trigger: This trigger ensured precise shooting with every pull.
- KIDD Silver Viton Charging Assembly and 22 Muzzle Brake .920: These components not only looked great but also improved the rifle's functionality.
- KIDD Bolt Buffer, V-Block, and Pins and Countersink: These parts made assembly straightforward and enhanced the rifle's overall performance.
Stability and Readiness
Stability is key for accurate shooting. To achieve this, I added the following:
- Magpul Bi-Pod M-Lock: This bipod provided a steady platform for shooting, ensuring stability in various positions.
- Ruger 3 Pack Magazines: Always being prepared with extra magazines is essential for uninterrupted shooting sessions.
A Stunning Finish
To house all these exceptional components, I chose the Woox Merica stock. This stock not only added to the rifle's aesthetic appeal but also provided a comfortable and ergonomic grip, enhancing the overall shooting experience.
