VOLANTE is made of high quality Hickory handle and a high carbon steel axe head. The lightweight head allows the thrower to have more accuracy and precision. The VOLANTE axe also makes for a great axe for camping or hunting because it is designed to offer considerable power and leverage in a compact size. Ideally suited for light forest work, splitting smaller firewood and felling smaller sized trees too. VOLANTE meets the Competition Requirements of the International Axe Throwing Federation (IATF).

What are the IATF Requirement Axes?

The International Axe Throwing Federation (IATF) was established in 2016 to service the sport of axe throwing globally with the vision of creating a standardized rule system to enable broad and accessible competition amongst players.Below the axes requirements:

The handle must be made from wood, no other material is allowed.
Handle Length: The length must be a minimum of 13” long and cannot exceed a maximum of 17” long.
Weight: The axe head must weigh between 1.25 and 1.75 pounds.
Blade Length: The face (blade) of the axe must be no longer than 4".
